Christened August 23, 2014 by Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts. Wingfoot One has provided aerial coverage of numerous marquee events, including the NBA Finals, the Daytona 500, the Stanley Cup Finals, the PGA Championship and the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Christened October 21, 2016 by Akron philanthropist and businesswoman Savannah James. Wingfoot Two became the first Goodyear Blimp in over 50 years to serve as a jump platform for skydivers when the USAF Academy Wings of Blue skydive team made a historic leap from above Bristol Motor Speedway in September 2016.

Christened August 30, 2018 by record-setting aviator Shaesta Waiz. The youngest of the U.S.-based Goodyear Blimps has already visited over 20 states and Canada, covering major events including the PGA Championship and the College Football Playoffs.

Born in Friedrichshafen, Germany and now based in Essen, the Goodyear Blimp flying in Europe carries on a tradition that began with the Europa back in 1972. The current Europe Blimp took to the skies in 2020 and is operated by Deutsche Zeppelin-Reederei GmbH, covering events across the continent such as racing's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

There's No Place Like Home

Wingfoot Lake - Ohio Base

Built in 1917, the hangar is the oldest airship facility and one of the oldest active aircraft bases, vital to lighter-than-air aviation and military ops during WWI and WWII, training the first class of airship pilots.

Pompano Beach - Florida Base

Goodyear has operated a blimp base at Pompano Beach Airport since 1979, featuring a hangar and office building that serves as the command center for pilots, base staff, and public relations.

Carson - California Base

Goodyear's blimp base in Carson, California, opened in January 1968 on 27 acres and has housed nine blimps, including Columbia, Eagle, and Spirit of Innovation, with the current Wingfoot Three, visible daily to over a million commuters unless it's traveling the country.

Essen - European Base

A remarkable feat of sustainable engineering, the timber-framed Zeppelin hangar in Essen is made from over 550 tons of spruce wood, wrapped in an aluminum outer shell. In 2024 it became the new home for the European Goodyear Blimp.
